Divisional Conclave 3rd September 2022

On a pleasant Saturday morning the knights of the Division of West Lancashire descended upon the Swinton Masonic Hall for their annual meeting.
Dep.IG Stephen M. Gregory, IG Graham E. Williams and Div.Eusebius Gordon Turner
The meeting was honoured by the presence of many visiting dignitaries from other Divisions within our Constitution, showing the high regard that our Intendant General R.Ill Kt. Graham Edwin Williams and his deputy V.Ill. Kt. Stephen Gregory are held.

The guests were paraded into to the Conclave ahead of those High-ranking officers of our own Division, the R.Ill Past Intendant’s General; Knights Brian Fairhurst, GCC and Ken Shaw KCC. Also in attendance was R.Ill Kt. Mike Walker Past Intendant General.

After our guests had taken their places the Divisional Marshal Ray Pye announced the Intendant General along with the officers of the Division and they paraded into the Conclave under an arch of steel provided by the Sepulchre Guard.

Without more a do the Intendant General opened the meeting and expertly guided us through the mornings business which included appointing and Investing the officers of the year. The list of officers can be found on this website under the Divisional tab.

In his address to the Knights, The Intendant General thanked all officers of the Division who were retiring from office and made special mention of the High Prelate - Jonathan Aitken, Recorder - Neil Cooper and registrar of the Sepulchre Guard, Ian Brown, all of whom were handing over their responsibilities to new officers, for their services to the Division over many years.

After the business of the meeting had been concluded we retired to the banquet which consisted of Caesar Salad, followed by Braised Steak, Pancake with Cherries and Ice Cream, Cheese and Biscuits and Tea or Coffee. A super meal prepared and served by the staff at the hall.

Speeches were short and we were soon on our way home to join our families for the remainder of the weekend.

All are to be congratulated on a well organised meeting that can’t fail to impress all who attended.
